WALT: how to write narrtive story with using our minds.

This week we have been focusing on our writing and for this week writing is an Alternative story called Three billy goats gruff. But since our teacher didn’t actually read the story we had to come up with a idea from our head, if we didn’t know what was the story then we will have to watch a video that was in our writing site 👍.

What I know about the story.

• 3 Goats trying to cross the bridge.
• Youngest goes first then the oldest last.
• “ Why eat me when my brother has more meat inside of him.
• “Who dares to cross my bridge ! “
• 3 goats that are different ages and height.
• First the youngest and oldest last.

WALT: How to spend and save our money.

For this week we have been focusing on our maths and for this term our class is learning how to spend and save our money. If someone asks me if I was a saver or spender than I would say saver because its obvious that when its my turn to retire and I have no money, I could just go to my savings account and take out some money to help me with my bills and grocery, all sorts of things that I will be needing in life.

We are learning to know how people are treating the environment.

This week we have been focusing on our reading for this week reading is Plastic free – environment, this book is about how we should be treating the world and learning how to protect the environment by picking up rubbish when we see it on the floor or anywhere near you 👍. In our reading project we had to read a story that was publish from a school in Auckland Dunedin, its about a school talking to each other discussing with each other of what they should do to protect the Earth 🌍.

WALT: understand Exponents to help us use Bedmas.

For this term my class and I have been focusing on our Bedmas and this week we are on E which is exponents then the next week the letter will be D and d means divison. I can explain what exponents by expanding it for Eg: 2 to the power of 3 is 8 and the strategie is 2 x 2 x 2 which equals 8.

WALT: summarize and compare info.

This week we have been focusing on a book called bugbix its a book where different types of schools around Dunedin where they all work together as a team and build a worm farm. My teacher picked this book because Room 9 has been selected to be the first class to build a worm farm. I can write keywords and pharases but one thing I cannot do is write things in my own words.

WALT: to write a different ending.

Our teacher is reading us a story called little red riding wolf, this is an alternative to Little red riding hood.

Things I know about the story little red riding hood.

• Little red riding hood grandmother gets eaten by the wolf.
• The big bad wolf spies on her.
• She is called little red riding because of her red cape.
• In coco net tv it shows that the little red riding hood is a famous Tiktok star
• She is well known for her kindness
• Her mother told her to bring some blueberry muffins to her grandmother
• In the alternative the little red riding hood is the big bad girl then the wolf is the little red riding wolf

Here’s my story.

I am going to the old granny wolf’s house to see if she is feeling better and to thank her for this lovely hat, and to give her the muffins I had baked for her.  As the wolf walked in the woods she came upon a girl who was taller than the trees around them. She stood in front of the wolf and asked her where the wolf was going and the wolf answered with “ I am going to my granny’s house !” As the wolf skipped ahead to her granny house. The big bad girl and a brilliant idea in her head to steal the wolf’s granny blueberry muffins that the little red riding wolf has baked for her.

 The big bad girl decided to take short cut where nobody knows, she takes the shortcut and runs to the granny’s house as she knows that the little red riding wolf was speed walking , the big bad girl sees the little red riding wolf from a distance and is shocked from how quick the little red riding wolf. She runs inside the house and searches for granny wolf, she eventually finds granny wolf and shoves her inside the cupboard then she locks the door to the cupboard she looks out the window and sees the little red riding wolf picking flowers for the granny and hears her singing, the big bad girl finds a old dress to make her look like  the granny then the big bad girl finds a wig that the wolf’s granny barely wears. 

The little red riding wolf enters the house with a huge smile, “ Oh Granny wolf, I came with blueberry muffins, your favorite !!”  The big bad girl jumps in the old granny’s bed and snuggles up in it trying to cover her face, then the big bad girl answers the wolf with “ Oh little red riding wolf, i’m upstairs in my room !” The little red riding wolf walks to her room and looks at the big bad wolf’s toes “ Oh granny wolf such small feet you have!” The big bad girl gets terrified then replies with “ I haven’t been growing that’s why my dear” then the little red riding wolf looks at her ears “ Such small ears you have !” The big bad girl answered the little red riding wolf “ I think it’s because I haven’t been listening to people that much.” Then the wolf looked at her nose “ Oh granny, such a small nose you have ! “ “It’s because I haven’t been breathing through my nose that much !” 

The little red riding wolf was getting suspicious of her granny’s behavior so she decided to pull the blanket and was shocked to see the big bad wolf was acting like her granny. She was so angry that she said “ I want you to leave immediately!” The big bad girl jumped up and ran as fast as she could as the little red riding wolf got her grandma from the closest and hugged her as they lived happily ever after.

WALT: know how to rewrite the end of a story.

This week my class and I has been focusing in our writing and this week’s writing was rewriting the end of the story called “True Story of the Three Little Pigs.” Our teacher  had to read us the story of the Three Little pigs and when she started reading the story we had to listen carefully so that we would had some ideas for the end of the story as you can see on the title of the story,  my class and I had to write the end of the story and use some ideas from other people by reading out one sentence in our paragraph.

WALT: figure out the book by asking questions before reading and answering them after reading.

This week we have been focusing on our book called Hushed, this book is about a group of people working together and they all come up a strategy after they all come up with a strategy and that they get handed in dominoes, and they will have to be very steady because they will have to try and make tower with the dominoes, because one mistake and the group will be out of the competition,  I think its a competition because every single group that is there has been so silent that they can hear each others thoughts. After skimming the book we will have to do our, I wonder , I recongise and new terms to me , which is the words we don’t know, and before we had to make a copy we will have to wait for our reading group to finish writing their sentence, because we had to work together and make a copy all together when we have done writing ✍.
