25. Planning – Personal Narrative

Fakalofalahi Atu Reader,

This term we were given a task to do which was our Ko Wai O.  In our Ko Wai O we had  to put images, memories, best work and more things. This task was due on week 10 on a Thrusday and it was for the whole senior school. We had to think of a way of how we were gonna present it to the whole school because after were done with our task we had to display on in our school hall. My class ( Room 9) were given out this huge corflute, corflute is a type of material that is use for the houses sale board thingy.  At first I was thinking of just putting a boring Ko Wai O poster but then I asked my teacher ( Whaea Lorraine) if she had any ideas for my Ko Wai O  poster, she had told me that I should fold the poster and it would turn into a opening book thingy look.

So then when I had the idea for my poster  I had to do my Pepeha on Canva so that it could look creative because I was thinking of doing it on Google slides but looking at the other students do it on Google slides made it look extra boring ! So I did on the canva and after I wrote all my work and the things I was gonna put it on my Ko Wai O poster I had to wait for my mother to send me my baby photo’s which took forever because she had to go on her old phone and send the baby photos on to her new photo. When she sent it to me I putted all my work and baby photos onto canva then PDF. Then I had to put it onto a Google slides because it was going to awfully hard to print it off.  So then after she print it off I had to put a boarder on every work I did so that it could stand out. For my poster I wanted to paint it light blue which was a amazing idea. Then I had to pick a colour that would help stand out my work so I choose the colour yellow because according to google the best colour that matches with light blue will have to be yellow.  I glued all my work on to my boarder then glue it again on my poster.  This is pretty much what I did for my Ko Wai O.

Thank you for viewing my blog post and remember that Jesus loves you 🫰 !!

25. Technology – Recount

Malo E Lelei Reader,

WALT: Recall what we did at tech.

This week at technology my group (DVC) did painting on laminating paper, it wasn’t normal laiminating paper where it comes off when you draw something on it. It was a sort of paper where you can draw and paint on the laiminating paper,  in the beginning of the process we had to listen to the instruction which was grab a laiminating paper and another paper that had the design on it, then we had to grab a permanent marker so that we could trace it out on the laiminating paper.

The thing that made this work had was tracing out the design with the permanent marker. The reason why it was that difficult it was because the people beside me were moving alot like there was ants on their pants because it made my project messy but Mrs Rogers told us that if our lines wasn’t that good then we could retrace but then we had to use a whiteboard marker since that lets the permanent marker slowly wash away, but overall this activity was creative and fun to do.

After we traced it out with the marker we had to paint the designs,  I choose to do a flower as my work so then I knew I had to pick out a colour that matched the flowers and the outside.  I didn’t have any idea for the colors so then I asked around the students that  was near me and that they suggested to do green as the leafs and pink as the pedals.  We had to mix the paint with modpodge, this makes the artworks shiny. I will put a photo below so that you can see what the modpodge looks like.

This is all the information I rememeber but thank you for reading my blog post and have a fanastic day.

Also a reminder that the lord is coming very soon 🙏 !

25. Positive Relationship

Hola Reader,

Hola Reader,

This week for kiwi can we have been learning about Positive Communication  and what it mean, Positive Communication means Teamwork makes the Dreamwork !  Our theme is week is Positive Relationship the mean playing in safe and thoughtful ways with others. Our country this week was Argentina. Some facts about Argentina is they have a famous player who plays football there which is Messi ( captain of the football team ).  Argentina is the Home for Tango, Argentina’s National sport is a Gaucho Sport called Pato. Argentina is known for passion for soccer , and love for tango. Our energizer this week was hoop for hoop , in this energizer we had to work as a team and corporate together. Every class in Edmund Hillary were given a challenge which was who can go through the hoop fastest. Room 4 beat every class which was 1 minute on the dot. Our class beaten every single class in school which was 44 seconds but then at the end one of the boys let go of their hands which made us restart with the timer still on because in the energizer there was a two rules which was locking in our hands (meaning not letting go) and that there was no practice round which means that when the timer started the round had started and that there was no going back.

For our activity it was called ” Sing it with Pride”  . In order to play this activity we had to get into groups of 6 or more, after getting into the teams we had to then sit around the hoops that were laid out.  In the activity Kiwi Can would say a word then we would have 5 seconds to think of a song that had the same word they said.  In my team there was 5 girls including me was “Keiti, Sala, Trinity, Treyden, and Danielle. In the activity our team scored 5 then the our teams had 4 , 3 , 2, 1 points. In the activity every group was telling our group that we weren’t actually singing and were just screaming out the words, but when I asked the Kiwi Can leader (Here and Glaytor) 0ne of them told my group that we were singing while the other one was telling us that we were screaming the words out.

After playing our activity we sat in a circle for GKQ, before we did GKQ ( General Knowledge Questions). Basically meaning that we would have a GKQ leader and they would have to pick which side to start from ( either the left side where the boys sit all together or right side where the girls sit).  Then the Kiwi Can Leaders will have to ask you questions for you to answer and then the first one to answer it correctly will be the GKQ Leader then it goes on and on until everyone has a turn and then whoever won the last question is the GKQ Master for next Kiwican Session,  I will also add a photo that shows Positive Relationship 🤗 !

Thank you for reading my blog and wonderful day ! Also a reminder that the Lord is coming soon 🙏!

25. Technology – Week 7

Assalamualaikum Reader !

These past 7 weeks we have been going to technology, this is the place where all the year 7 and 8 get into group’s of 3 and have classes such as Cooking, Hard Material, DVC ( known as Design Visual Creation) also the group that i’m in, then the last group is Steam.

In technology my group we watched a video about making diy keychains at of scratch.  Firstly we had to grab a 2 papers that was upfront.  On of the papers was a draft paper and the other paper was the actual paper where we had to draw and then cut.  I made 3 things at of paper which was a heart, Koru, and lastly it was Tongan flag ( which represent my culture” most kids in my tech group were fanastic at drawing so they drew spiderman. Anyways in the process of the making the keychains was getting the two papers then drawing on our draft, our tech teacher told us to draw multiple drawing so that we had choice if we wanted to pick two or more.  The hardest part of  the process was shaping it because if we drawed to small then it will turn into a pea, but if we drawed it to big it will turn into an apple, but overall the activity was very interesting !  After I drew my heart I had to trace it out on the real paper then I cuted it and handed it into Mrs Rodgers, where she made a hole and put inside this machine where it shrinked and turned harden. But thats what we basically did on Monday this week !

Thank you for reading my blog post and have a fanastic day !! Also a reminder that the Lord is coming soon 🙏 !

25. Technology – Week 6

Ni Hao !

These past weeks we have been going to Tech to learn new things then bring it back and share it to our blogs post.

For technology this week DVC has been working on our pottery which is making bowls, cups and all sorts of things out of clay. Last week we were making our cups and bowls but for this week we have been painting our bowls.  Our tech teacher ( Miss R) told us to be creative and paint our cups into to fruits and all sorts of things. Most kids painted their cups with just plain colour which was boring! While other kids painted their pottery as watermelon, strawberry and kiwi fruit.  We had to choose what fruit we wanted to do then paint it on our cups.

The strawberry was the only fruit that interested me so I picked to do the strawberry. In the beginning of the process of making the strawberry was hard because I had to find to the right shade of the strawberry and that drawing the little seeds of the strawberry because Mrs R wanted our fruit Pottery realistic and creative so that made hard but in the middle and ending it was easy because all I had to do was dry the my pottery.

25. Technology

Kia Ora reader !

These past 4 weeks we have been going to technology, this is the place where all the year 7 and 8 get into group’s of 3 and have classes such as Cooking, Hard Material and DVC ( known as Design Visual Creation) also the group that i’m in.

For technolgy this week my group DVC were doing pottery and making bowls and cups out of clay,  we were all given out a block of clay each which was rock solid, we were taught by our tech teacher that if we dip our hand in a jar of water then put it on the clay it will make the clay soft, on the spinning wheel which is called pottery wheel we had to make our draft bowl which was making the bowl ourselves, but if it was to hard to make then we could skip that part on move on the the wheel. I have decided to make 2 bowls one was the handmade one and the other one was the wheel one.  One my highlights at Technology was making pottery bowls because you can learn so many things from it.

Thank you for reading my blog post and have a fanatastic day,  also a reminder that the Lord is coming soon 🙏 !

25. Explaination Writing – Favourite

Fakalofa Lahi Atu !

For this week’s explaination writing our teacher gave us a task on Tuesday which was writing a explaination of our favourite dish, the reason why she made us write a explaination on our favourite dish is that we understand what to write in the explaination writing and that she wanted us to explain why is it our favourite dish. Before we had to write our explaination writing of favourite dish, we had to write a plan about what we were going to write about it, eg: Where, Why, When, and How?

Here is my explaination writing about favourite dish.

Year 8 Leadership Homework.25

Kia Ora reader,

WALT:  understand what leadership looks like as year eights.

This week the year 8’s in room 10 and 9 have been given a task by Whaea Lorraine, she had told us that we had to write one page of how do we want the juniors, staff, and teachers to remember of us for.  The homework was given out on Monday and due on Tuesday, but since we had a different teacher on Wednesdays and Thrusday she had given till the end of the week to give it out.

Most of the students handed in their homework but some of the year 8’s had thought that Whaea Lorraine was going to forget about the homework and didn’t do it. So now those kids that didn’t write their one page they will have to stay in from lunch and write the one page but Whaea Lorraine had told them if their attitudes was good in class then she would give them lunch to write it,  but if their attiude was bad then it was going to be morning tea and lunch time.  She was eager for us to finish our homework because she wanted to know what the whole school wanted to remember us of.

I published all my work onto doc to showcase what leadership looks like.

Technology: Day 2

WALT: Recall what we learned during tech.

WHAT: when we can identify the main highlights.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Assalamualaikum reader,

These past 2 weeks we have been going to technology, this is the place where all the year 7 and 8 get into group’s of 3 and have classes such as Cooking, Hard Material and DVC ( known as Design Visual Creation) also the group that i’m in.

One of my highlights at Tech was learning how to make a refrigerator magnet out of clay because the texture of the clay was really smooth but in the beginning of the process we were given these indestructible blocks of clay each, to make it smooth we had to break it to two then get a jar of water as we mush it up in our hands as I was squeezing the clay while I was putting water in the clay on my other hand, I had to that for about 20 minutes till it was smooth enough to carve out an design on the clay.

Miss R (our tech teacher in DVC) told us to split the clay again to two pieces and roll them into a small ball and press down, when we finish pressing it down we had to check to see our pressed down ball to see if there was any cracks and if there was we had to dip water into our hands and close all the cracks by smoothing it down. After that we had to figure out a shape we wanted to do on our clays, I chose a heart since it was the most simplest shape ever to do on a clay.

As we crave out our shape on the clay we had to smooth it out by putting water on our hands and shape it. When making the clay we will have to be careful with making the refrigerator magent because we needed to make sure the magent was big enough to fit the clay.

Thank you for reading my blog post and have a fantastic day, and remember to spread the gospel

Wavey word art poster – SLJ

Talofa Lava Reader!

WALT: Improve our learning skills with the help of Summer Learning  Journey.

Today my class had to pick a activity to do on our SLJ this week,  out of all the other things I have picked to do Today’s activity since I wanted to start early. So in this activity we had to make a copy of two templates one for putting your words in for the description of the ocean, then the other one was the making your art wall. Basically what we had to do is put words that describes the theme, I will put the two template on the bottom. This activity was fun to do because your basically learning about the Ocean life..

Here is both of the template.

Thank you for viewing my blog post and have a fantastic day!
