24. Reading Response

Kia Ora Everyone!!

This week my reading group which is Tui had to go and sit with Tanya so that she could explain what we had to do for Reading, as we sat down we had to go on the Panui ( which is the reading site in Maori) andsd go on our group and press on this site called reading response of No water No food, after making a copy we had to go through it and finish each slide on the reading response, there was one slide that I enjoyed doing, and that was the Nile vs China, I liked it because it was a very creative idea, because you can reasearch why is Nile good or how is Nile Delta postive and you can do that for China as well.

24. Idioms

Bonjour Everyone!

This week my has been focusing on our Idioms for the past few weeks. Every week we will always have to go on our slides and go on week three and complete the challenge, I really love doing these challenge because you can learn from doing these types of work by using common words in new ways to express yourself better!! If  your a teacher reading my blog I highly recommend teaching your students these types of work because they can learn more and more each time!!

24. Prefixes

This week my class and I have been focusing on our prefixes, this week our  prefix was phobia and the meaning of phobia is fear of something that you are very afraid of something, I really enjoyed doing these types of work because you can find out words that you didn’t know that exist and research the meaning of it!!

24. Report Writing, Multimodel

Assalamualaikum Everyone,

This week our class has been focused on our Writing Report, we also had to pick a photo on our set of the Water Event and place it a new doc, after putting it on a doc we ahd to add some nouns, adjectives and then some adverbs, after adding those in the report writing you have to do a general statement about your made up story but it will has to be about the photo that picked on the Water Event, after doing the general statement you will have to do a paragraph of the beginning of your made up story after doing that you will have to another paragaph of damage, then another paragraph of your Rescue attempts , then the last one is a sentence of your summary which is the conclusion of you made up story.

24. Prefixes

Kia ora,

WALHT: Is to know every single prefixes and suffixes for this year.

My class and I has been learning to know our prefixes and suffixes for this year and this term. This week our prefix was bi, the meaning of bi is called twice two or double, like for example: Bicolour is having two different colour. I really enjoyed doing this work because you can research the word  and find out what the meaing is! This helped me by knowing the words that I didn’t know that exist, after I search up the word I never knew it exist and it really helped me to understand the word, I really love to learn more exciting worrks like this so I can understand words that I never knew it exist!!

I am hoping to do more work like this next week!!

24. Maths DLO, Explanation

Talofa Lava,

This week my class and I has been learning about Maths in all differnet ways, This week we had the chance to  pick Division, Addition, Subtraction,  there was a chance to do Multpulcation but  no wanted to stand up and pick Multpulcation, I would pick it but since no wanted to do it, I never wanted to do it,  I just went for Division because my whole table was doing it.

It is really easy to understand so let me do a example, ( Factor x factor = Product) another example ( 5×3=15  3×15)  It is also the action of separating something into parts or the process of being separating. For example12 divided by 4 means 12 shared into 4 equal groups which would be 3..!!

24. Tuhi mai Tuhi atu, 2024 – Team 15

Malo,

On Wednesday my teacher  told us that we are going to be joining Tuhi mai Tuhi atu, is where differnet types of schools, kids that goes to those school will have to comment on other kids from a different school, I thought it was supposed to be like kids coming to our school and buddy read with each other, but when Tanya our teacher screencast to the tv I saw that every single kid had a link to their blog I was confused at first but I got the hang of it.

As a student at Edmund Hillary School I am very excited to comment on other kids from differnet schools, so that I can see what they have been learning about.  A student from Paroa in Greymouth  commented in my blog post, I was so excited that they had a chance to go on my blog and comment on it!!

As you can see the red one is our school Edmund Hillary School, the orange one is Paroa Greymouth School, the blue one is Glenn Innes School..!!

24. Idioms, Term 2 – Week 1

Talofa lava,

This week my class and I have been learning about all about Idioms, this week we had to move the sentence into its place,  its sort of like a word puzzle but differnet because in that sentence is acutally the defintion of the word that you have to drag to its right place, thats why I called a puzzle because it was dragging the word to its rightful meaning,

After that we had to blog about Idioms which what I am doing right now. The last part is to type what we have learnt about which I have already explain about.

24. R9 – Suffixes

WALT:  The meaning of each suffixes and find out which one it goes to.

Kia ora my class and I have been learning about different types of Suffixes and this week is a different one, it was a google drawing where I had match the meaning of the able suffixes, like here is a example: disable, you would have to find the meaning of the word then had to drag the word to its right place like its a activity but your actually doing your work but you can make it a activity but you should do it your way.

WALT: What I need to work on next term.

My class and I have been learning what we need to work on next term so that we could aim higher than ever! For my Writing goal I needed to work on my dialouge that was my number one goal,  then what I had to do is go on my folders  then I had to go on my math practice and had to check what I needed to work on next term, that was my number two  goal.
